Some songs to get you through the week!

MUSIC FOR YOU!

Alright ya'll it's that time of the week again for me to give y'all and update of what is going on and what is new and exciting. There is no artist that I am going to focus on today, but instead going to give y'all some great music to get you through the rest of the week.

As you know the holidays are going to be coming up soon and the New Years plans should be starting to take shape. If you have not gotten around to that you should really start thinking of that. I am going to next week give y'all a listing of some of the New Years stuff going on here in Austin and the surrounding area. Till then enjoy these songs and have a wonderful HUMP DAY!

Don't miss Dirty South This weekend at Kingdom 11/23

Check out this sick song by Pryda (Eric Prydz)

Check out this uptempo straight from the West Coast feel to help you get through this long week.

If you missed the announcement by Deadmau5 that he was quitting twitter after a long and successful run on the social media site and are now confused by this like we all are then welcome to the club. He has said that he will continue with the account, but it will now me managed by his management team (lame). Anyways you can still follow him on twitter to get updates on new music, but for now check out these 7 songs that he posted, each one named, in Latin, after the seven deadly sins, so sit back and take a ride to hell with the Mau5 (*warning this isn't what you are expecting, but damn does it hit the soul nice)

Signature Calvin Harris with a great song, it seems that Djs have really taken a liking to remixing Passion Pit and I can't say I mind.

If you thought Above and Beyond made you cry before....well their acoustic stuff will even more.

If you have been living under a rock for the past year you may have missed this, but Above and Beyond did something totally new in the EDM scene and set out to produce an all acoustic show. From all accounts it sounds like it was a smash hit in the two locations they have performed at so far, London and at the legendary Greek Theater in L.A.

If you have seen Above and Beyond before you know that the show holds a very powerful emotional effect over the adoring fans that pack their shows in every city. With Tony McGuiness (on acoustic and electric guitar, vocals, mandolin, and ukulele), Paavo Siljamaki (handling piano, cello, and vibraphone) and Jono Grant (handling Rhodes piano, guitar and vibraphone) and a sixteen piece band behind them they seem to have recreated it into a even more spine chilling deepness then ever before. With Zoe Johnston, Annie Drury, and Alex Vargas handling vocals for them it was a night to be remembered. I have yet to find the whole set to even listen to, but from the videos I have seen and the articles I have read the crowd was mesmerized by what seems to be a more appreciation for the fans that so love and adore Above and Beyond.

With the both nights at the Greek Theater selling out and the release of a studio acoustic album by the trio and a film about their acoustic show in London, which is done by VICEs Thump channel. There are sure to be many more chances to catch this new show by Above and Beyond. Until that time check out the videos and songs below from their acoustic show in LA. Also like always at the very bottom you can find some fun shows in the Austin area coming up

Here is an amazing live version for your enjoyment from their show at the Greek Theater.

Let's talk about Jody Wisternoff

Ah good ole Jody Wisternoff, what a pleasure it is to have a chance to share in his magical sounds. As I will assume more people reading this have not heard of Jody Wisternoff, expect for a select few, and that is a real shame.

Jody is a product of decades long work in a whole spectrum of different genres of the dance music world, from hardcore to electro house to progressive house, he has seen and done it all. He has settled down now in the progressive house feel and it seems to be going splendidly for him.

Jody started in the early 90's in Bristol and would work with his brother (Sam Wisternoff) and then would later meet Nick Warren. Nick and Jody would team up to form the progressive house group called Way Out West, which still turns out music and tours to this day. Jody would also embark on a solo mission and released his first solo album 'Trails We Blaze' in 2012 which was released on the Anjunadeep label. Jody has since been with the Ajunadeep label and heavily involved with Above and Beyond. He can be seen opening for them in both the final episode of TATW and the 50th episode of ABGT.

Jody's downbeat and progressive house sound is one that takes you on a musical journey that is deep and meaningful. The deep beats that he can lay down and the incorporation of  tribal music that he uses in his sets give his show a unique feel that most people do not have. His shows will take you on a extraordinary journey, far away from the club you are in and into a place way out west.

If you have not seen Jody Wisternoff yet, put him on the  list of must see djs, with him just visiting our great state I doubt we see him back soon but keep your eyes peeled, till then let me give you some good show dates coming up and some good tunes from Jody...enjoy.

After a long time off....It's time to start this back up.

Time to end the Hiatus

Well after a long time off I feel like I am finally ready to start posting again. It has been far to long that music has been shared on here and I shall try to not let school kick my ass and keep up with this. Anyways there has been a lot that has happened in the past year and of course another EDC and more concerts then I can name.

The EDM scene as since continued the meteoric rise that has been happening for the past it seems five years. As this trend seems set to continue the music will become bigger and the festivals even bigger. The shows will be even more elaborate and the venues will be bigger. As festival season wears down and tours start up I will post shows and links for tickets that will be worth seeing and raging at, so stay tuned. I just wanted to post some fun songs and some concerts that are are the radar. I will start writing a piece once a week at least with some fun shit and artist to look out for. Enjoy y'all.

I remember hearing this song somewhere and then found this remix that made it even better.

This mashup with Lorde and Biggie is something that will delight your ears and intrigue your brain.

For those who love some good ole classic house music with a Afro-Salsa feel.

I can't not say enough on how much I love this song and this is a band to watch going forward. I didn't know what to expect when I saw there was a music video, but damn they got it right.
